Rumors of War
Rumors of War
"Rumors of War" Digital Art Collage from the Virginia Collection.
"Rumors of War" adds symbolic botanical elements to the iconic statue in Richmond, Virginia, created by sculptor, Kehinde Wiley. Wiley is also famous for his painting of President Barack Obama for the National Portrait Gallery. Rumors of War was created in response to a statue of a Confederate General in Richmond, Virginia. The Confederate's statue was removed in July of 2020, but Wiley's statue remains at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.
